ESSA Accessory Fit Guide: Which Harness, Lead, Collar, Raincoat and Carrier Fits Your Plush?
Our harnesses, leads, collars and outfits are made for plush toys, but not every accessory fits every size of plush. This guide tells you which accessory fits which plush before you order, so nothing has to be sent back.
The short version
- Harnesses: come in two sizes. The Medium & Large harnesses fit Medium and Large plush toys; the Small & Medium harness fits Small, Small/Medium and Medium. There is no harness for X-Large, Pocket size or Tiny pocket size.
- Goggles and Awareness Kit Half Set: fit Medium and Large plush toys only.
- Denim hoodies, the ESSA Hoodie, dressing gown, raincoat, front carrier backpack and anti-slip socks: fit Medium plush toys only.
- Collar and leash set: fits Small, Small/Medium and Medium plush toys only.
- Self-cleaning grooming brush: suits every plush size, from Tiny pocket size to X-Large.
- Not sure which size your plush is? Look for Size Category on its product page, or use the list below.
Step 1: find your plush's size category
Every plush product page has a Size Category line under Additional Information, for example "Size Category: Medium". That one word is all you need to match an accessory.
If you would like to see all the sizes side by side, our ESSA Size Guide explains the measurements and lists the most popular plush toys in each size. As a quick reminder, measured from nose to tail:
- Tiny pocket size (about 13–15 cm): Prince, Mini Goldie
- Pocket size (about 20 cm): Harko, Queenie, Sheba, Flair
- Small (about 25 cm): Chap, Tucker, Yettie, Bear
- Small/Medium (about 23–28 cm): Argento, August, Kingsley, Milo, Herdie
- Medium (about 41 cm): Chase, Bella, Wolfgang, Sasha, Sinclair
- Large (about 45–48 cm): Dixie, River, Thor, Smoke, Maizie
- X-Large (about 58–61 cm): Honey, Alps, Maverick
Step 2: match the accessory to the size
Harnesses: two sizes
Our ESSA Harnesses come in two sizes, so please pick the one that matches your plush:
- Medium & Large harnesses (the Emotional Support harness in Red, Pink and Orange, the camouflage vest harness and the lightweight summer grid harnesses): one size, made for Medium and Large plush toys such as Chase, Bella, Wolfgang, Sasha, Dixie, Thor and River. Too big for Small plush and too small for X-Large.
- Small & Medium harness: one size, made for Small, Small/Medium and Medium plush toys such as Chap, Tucker, Argento, Milo, Herdie, Chase and Bella. It does not fit Large, X-Large, Pocket size or Tiny pocket size plush. This smaller harness has a metal ring on the back for the lead and no top handle.
- X-Large plush (Honey, Alps, Maverick), Pocket size and Tiny pocket size plush: we do not have a harness for these sizes at the moment, so please don't order a harness for them. If you would like one, email us with the name of your plush and we will let you know what we can do.
Goggles: Medium and Large only
Our ESSA goggles (black, red and pink) fit Medium and Large plush toys only. They do not fit X-Large, Small, Pocket size or Tiny pocket size plush.
Awareness Kit Half Set: Medium and Large only
The ESSA Awareness Kit Half Set (leash, bandana, tag and collar) fits Medium and Large plush toys only, such as Chase, Bella, Wolfgang, Sasha, Dixie, Thor and River. It does not fit X-Large, Small, Pocket size or Tiny pocket size plush. It is made to match our Medium & Large harness, which is not included.
Hoodies, dressing gown, raincoat and socks: Medium only
Our denim hoodies (red, gray and black), the ESSA Hoodie (Navy, Red, Lilac and Brown), the ESSA Dressing Gown, the ESSA Raincoat and the Anti-Slip Socks are sized for Medium plush toys only, such as Chase, Bella, Wolfgang, Sasha and Sinclair. They do not fit Large or X-Large plush, and they are too big for Small, Pocket size and Tiny pocket size plush.
Front Carrier Backpack: Medium only
The ESSA Front Carrier Backpack (Denim Patch, Camouflage, Rainbow Stripe, Navy Stripe and Dark Denim) is a legs-out carrier worn on the chest and is sized for Medium plush toys only, such as Chase, Bella, Wolfgang, Sasha and Sinclair. It does not fit Large or X-Large plush, and it is too big for Small, Pocket size and Tiny pocket size plush.
Collar and leash set: Small, Small/Medium and Medium only
Our ESSA Collar & Leash Set for Small and Medium Essa fits Small, Small/Medium and Medium plush toys only, such as Chap, Tucker, Argento, Milo, Herdie, Chase, Bella, Wolfgang, Sasha and Sinclair. It does not fit Large or X-Large plush, and it is too big for Pocket size and Tiny pocket size plush. It comes in seven colours.
Grooming brush: every size
The ESSA Self-Cleaning Grooming Brush (Blue or Pink) is not sized to the plush, so it suits every ESSA plush from Tiny pocket size to X-Large. Press the paw button on the back and the pins retract, so the collected fluff lifts away in one go.
Personalising the ESSA UK Dog Card
There is no separate personalisation box on the ESSA UK Personalised Dog Card page. When you order it, please write three things in the note box on the cart page:
- which plush it is for (the ESSA model, for example Chase Border Collie)
- your ESSA's name
- the handler's name
If you bought the plush from us, we already have its photo, so you don't need to send one. If you have already placed your order and forgot the note, email the three details to info@essauk.com with your order number.
Still not sure?
If you are unsure whether an accessory will fit, please get in touch and tell us which plush you are buying. We will check for you before you order.
