Poppy Goat by Douglas: A Floppy Farmyard Companion

Meet Poppy, a genuine Douglas goat plush

Poppy is a genuine Douglas® goat plush from the Douglas farm range. She captures the bouncy, carefree character of a young goat that would happily spend all day racing across a meadow. Her creamy white plush is scattered with soft grey spots, and the careful detail around her face gives her a gentle, lifelike expression. She looks like a real farmyard kid while staying soft enough to cuddle every day.

You can see her photo, her current price and her availability on the Poppy Goat product page.

How big is Poppy?

Poppy measures about 28 cm (11 inches) long and weighs about 88 g (3.1 oz). In ESSA UK terms that makes her a Small companion: light enough to carry around the house, slip into a bag for a day out or sit on a desk without taking over the space. Because her body is floppy, she can stretch out flat, drape over your arm or settle into a cosy corner of a bookshelf. If you are comparing sizes, our ESSA size guide sets every Douglas plush size side by side, so you can picture her at home before you order.

Why farm animal fans love her

• A classic spotted coat: creamy white plush with soft grey spots, just like many real goats.
• A gentle face: carefully finished features give her a calm, friendly expression.
• Floppy and posable: her relaxed body is easy to arrange, whether she is lying down or stretching out.
• Made for cuddles and play: ultra soft fabric with a durable polyester fill, so she is gentle to hold and sturdy enough for lively playtime.

A comfort companion for every day

Many of our customers keep a Douglas plush as their ESSA, a comfort companion they name, take on trips or keep close at home. Poppy suits that role well for anyone who likes a light, soft plush that is easy to take along. Her floppy body relaxes into your hands, and her sweet face makes her a cheerful presence on a bedside table or a desk. An ESSA is a comfort plush rather than a medical product, and any plush you love can become one. If the idea is new to you, read our guide to what a comfort plush companion is.

Is Poppy a good gift?

With her fresh, farmyard look, Poppy makes a lovely spring present or an Easter basket surprise. She is a thoughtful choice for anyone who loves farm visits, petting zoos or country life, and she is suitable from 24 months, so she can be given to young children who are ready for plush toys. Adults who collect realistic farm animal plush enjoy her too. Many people give her a new name as soon as she arrives, which is half the fun of welcoming a new companion home.

Looking after Poppy

Poppy is surface wash only. To keep her fresh after plenty of cuddles and adventures, gently spot clean her fur rather than putting her in the washing machine. She is suitable from 24 months.
