Jake the Salty Dog Black Lab by Douglas: A Small Seaside Companion

Meet Jake the Salty Dog, a Black Lab plush by Douglas

Jake the Salty Dog is a Black Lab plush made by Douglas, and he arrives ready for a day by the sea. He wears a yellow hat and a red bandana, and under them is a long, soft black coat that is lovely to stroke. His face is gentle and friendly, with the easy-going character that his name suggests. He is made to keep you company and to watch over you at night.

You can see his photos, his current price and his availability on the Jake the Salty Dog product page.

How big is Jake?

Jake measures about 28 cm (11 inches). In ESSA UK terms that makes him a Small companion: a size that sits on a desk or a windowsill without taking over the space, and fits easily in a bag for a day out. He is a small, huggable size rather than a large cuddle-sized plush, so please check the measurement before you order. If you are comparing sizes, our ESSA size guide sets every Douglas plush size side by side, so you can picture him next to the rest of your collection.

What makes Jake different?

Most Black Lab plush dogs come as they are. Jake comes dressed. His yellow hat and red bandana give him a seaside, harbour-side look, and they make him stand out on a shelf or a bed among plainer companions. The long black fur around his ears and chest adds to his character and makes him soft to hold. He is a cheerful choice for anyone who loves Labradors, the coast or a dog with a bit of personality.

Who is Jake for?

Jake suits Labrador fans who want a small companion, people who like a coastal or seaside theme, and anyone looking for a soft friend to keep on a desk, a bedside table or a bookshelf. Because he is Small, he is easy to take along on a trip or to post as a gift. If you collect Labradors, he sits well beside our other Douglas Black Lab plush and the wider Douglas Labrador plush range, and our guide to the best Douglas dogs for Labrador fans compares the Labradors we stock.

Caring for Jake

Jake is not waterproof, so keep him dry and away from the water he is dressed for. He is made to keep you company and to watch over you at night, so his place is indoors.
