If you’ve been searching for Douglas Dogs in the UK, you’ve probably already noticed that they are not always easy to find locally.
Many Douglas Dogs are popular with collectors, ESSA owners and comfort plush communities, but UK availability can be limited. Some models sell out quickly, some are only available from overseas sellers, and some may involve long waits, pre-orders or extra shipping costs.
At ESSA UK, we focus on making Douglas Dogs easier to access for UK customers by keeping selected models in UK stock, ready to dispatch quickly.
Where can you actually get a Douglas dog in the UK? (checked 9 October 2026)
We checked the obvious routes for three of the most-wanted models – Chase Border Collie, Bella Golden Retriever and Sasha Husky. Prices and stock change daily, so treat this as a snapshot.
| Route | What we found on 9 Oct 2026 | Delivery to a UK address |
|---|---|---|
| ESSA UK | Chase £63.99, Bella £63.99, Sasha £59.99 – all in UK stock | Free tracked delivery over £20; dispatched next working day; usually 2–4 working days |
| Douglas’s own website (US) | $30.95 each; Chase and Bella listed as out of stock | Ships within the United States only – no UK checkout |
| Amazon.co.uk | No current listing found for any of the three exact models | – |
| eBay UK | Bella £50.95 and Sasha £44.47 from a UK-based seller; the only exact Chase (item 2001) was located in the US at £55.07. Several cheaper “Chase” results give the brand as “Unbranded” | Varies by seller – check item location and the brand field |
| Etsy UK | Mostly retired or second-hand listings; exact Chase and Sasha listings were sold out | Seller-specific |
| Australian ESSA shops | Chase, Bella and Sasha all sold out at both shops we checked (around A$78–A$80) | Shipped from Australia; international transit and any duty apply |
| Import marketplaces (Desertcart, OnBuy, EveryMarket) | Bella £48.36–£53.95; Chase £127.99–£215.81 | Mostly shipped from abroad; 3–15 business days quoted |
None of this means a marketplace listing is fake. It means you should check three things before paying: that the brand is named as Douglas, that the size matches (Chase, Bella and Sasha are 16 inches / 41 cm), and where the item ships from.
Why is the UK price higher than Douglas’s US price?
Douglas lists these dogs at $30.95 but does not sell to UK addresses from its own shop. A UK retailer buys the stock, ships it to the UK, pays import costs and UK VAT, and holds it here so it can go out the next working day. The ESSA UK price includes all of that and delivery over £20 – there is no customs bill when the parcel arrives. The full breakdown is in why Douglas dogs cost what they do in the UK.
Why UK stock matters
Ordering from overseas can sometimes work well, but it can also come with a few things to check carefully:
- longer delivery times
- higher shipping costs
- possible customs worries
- pre-order waiting periods
- less clarity around dispatch dates
- harder returns or support
When an item is already held in the UK, the experience is much simpler.
At ESSA UK, in-stock items are dispatched from the UK, so UK customers do not need to worry about overseas customs delays for those orders.
Fast UK delivery
For UK orders, ESSA UK offers free UK tracked delivery on orders over £20.
We dispatch orders the next working day. UK delivery is normally around 2–4 working days, depending on Royal Mail and local delivery conditions.
That means you are not waiting weeks for an overseas parcel or wondering when a pre-order might arrive.

Are Douglas Dogs good as ESSA companions?
Many people in the community use the word ESSA to describe a soft companion they connect with emotionally, name, style, photograph and take on little adventures. Any plush can be an ESSA – no brand or gear is required. Read what an ESSA is.
A Douglas Dog is not a medical treatment or replacement for professional support, but many customers enjoy having one as part of a comforting routine.
People often choose their Douglas Dog based on:
- softness
- breed
- size
- face shape
- personality
- whether it feels cuddly, floppy or structured
- which one they emotionally connect with most
That is why comparison videos and customer unboxings are so helpful. Sometimes you just need to see the dogs side by side before choosing.
What should you check before buying?
Before buying a Douglas Dog online, it is worth checking:
-
Is it actually in stock?
Some sellers use pre-orders, which can mean a longer wait. -
Where is it shipping from?
UK stock usually means faster delivery for UK customers. -
Is the brand named?
Genuine listings name Douglas (Douglas Cuddle Toys) as the brand and match the model’s size. Chase, Bella and Sasha are 16 inches; Douglas’s item numbers are 2001, 1802 and 1803. -
Is delivery included?
A lower product price can become expensive once shipping is added. At ESSA UK, UK delivery is free on orders over £20. To understand what drives the price, read why Douglas dogs cost what they do; on a budget, browse Douglas plush under £40. -
Are there customer reviews?
Reviews, unboxings and real customer photos help build trust. -
Is checkout secure?
Always check that the website uses secure payment options. -
What happens if something goes wrong?
Local customer support can make a big difference.
Can you see who you are buying from?
Before paying any UK website, look for three things a genuine retailer publishes: a registered company name and number, a UK returns address, and a clear dispatch-to-delivery time. ESSA UK is the trading name of Mentor Technology Limited (company number 12899244, VAT GB 521 3328 30, listed on Companies House); returns go to our Royal Leamington Spa address in the refund policy; orders are dispatched the next working day and usually arrive within 2–4 working days. Some UK listings quote 5–10 working days and do not publish company details – worth knowing before you order.

Can ESSA UK ship outside the UK?
Yes, to most European and many international destinations, charged per item by Royal Mail zone (from £10.99 to Europe). Because of customs-clearance problems we do not currently ship to Belgium, Bulgaria, Spain or Italy. Any import duty or VAT in the destination country is the recipient’s responsibility – see our shipping policy.
UK customers get free UK tracked delivery on orders over £20. For the most accurate international price, check directly at checkout.
